All about Charlie (weird, I know)

Charlie's new favorite thing to say over and over is "ba, ba, ba, ba". She's finally making real talking sounds instead of just making noises. It's pretty fun to hear and I think we'll have a very vocal girl on our hands. Not at all unexpected knowing how much her father and I talk! Anyway, here is a cute short video of her showing off her new vocabulary.

She's also got another cold. She had just gotten over her last one and now she's got the green boogers stuffing up her nose all over again! Poor girl. Although she handles her colds fairly well and is usually still happy for the most part but it makes her sleepy and she can't sleep easily b/c she can't breathe! I feel so bad for her (and I also know in a day or two I'll probably have the same cold unfortunately.) I guess this just comes w/ being a parent. Babies immune systems are immature and can't fight off colds as well as adults so it seems they are sick all the time. Really we've been pretty lucky on this front seeing as this is only her 4th cold in almost 8 months. So I can't complain but I will say I'm ready for this cold weather to be over with and for the warm weather to come and zap the cold bugs away for the summer. It will be so nice!

Some other things she's really enjoying lately:

* Shoulder rides with Daddy (she LOVES these!)

* Solid foods - she loves feeding herself puffs and yogurt melts and loves to try new foods. In the above picture she's eating turkey and sweet potatoes. Sounds kind of gross but she likes it!
* Rolling over - she still hates being on her tummy and really likes to immediately roll onto her back. I don't think she'll ever crawl especially b/c she loves...
* Standing! She loves being on her feet and holds herself up so well! She can stand on her own holding onto the ottoman and is just a matter of her getting better balance before she'll be standing without holding onto anything.
* Talking - she is constantly talking to us! She loves to hear her own voice!
* Looking at herself in the mirror. That is one cute baby in that mirror! She really likes to see herself and talk to her image!
* Playtime on the floor sitting on her own. She will sit and play with her toys forever! She loves the independence of sitting alone!
* Being upside down. She must think the view upside down is amazing b/c she is constantly trying to flip her head down while we are holding her so she can look around like that. It's pretty funny! Here is a picture of her trying to get her head upside down while having floor playtime. Such a silly girl!

I think once she can communicate with us we're going to have quite the comedienne on our hands. She likes to get a good laugh and is very goofy. She is getting more and more fun by the day and I love her to pieces!

We've got a lot of fun stuff planned for the upcoming months! Kara & Todd's wedding reception, the MS Walk, Sarah & Jason's wedding and trips to Galesburg and Arkansas. Hopefully Charlie grows into a good little traveler (so far, so good) b/c we don't stay put for long!

Bring on the spring!

Blah tee dee blah blah suck it

Charlie's in bed, Wade's downstairs w/ our neighbor and I'm bored and drunk watching March madness (which I am winning in my bracket btw, proof that you don't need to know a God damn thing to win) and I thought why not share a cute picture with ya'll? I think you'll like it. And if you don't then you can suck a bag of dicks. Tada!

It's Charlie's 1st St. Patrick's Day! And seriously, I know she's my baby so I'm biased and la tee dah blah blah blah... But I think she is the cutest thing I've ever seen. And if you don't think so then you must be blind. (Unless you are a parent as well and then she is obviously the 2nd cutest thing you have ever seen right behind your own baby.) Duh.

Happy late St. Paddy's day!!!

1st Unofficial Haircut

I was tired of looking at the back of Charlie's head and being reminded of the Tales From The Crypt Gatekeeper with the sparse scraggly hair. Ew. So not cute.

So with the help of my mom (distracting Charlie) and Kara (photographer) I cut the back of her hair off so that it was all even. And I have to say, it looks adorable. Don't worry. She's still rocking the combover and flip-de-do on top. All I did was even out the back. Oh and you can also see her nice big worn bald spot on the back of her head too. Yes, her hair is totally awesome.

Yay! Pretty haircut! So totally cute!

Donald Trump ain't got nuthin on this hairdo

This girl's hair is hilarious. She's still rocking the balding combover look. It seems the front short part has started to grow a little bit but it is still nowhere near the length of the rest of her hair.
And she is also still rocking the Alfa Alfa flip on the back too. This is too cute. I adore her hair. There's definitely no one else that has hair like hers! She's a unique baby for sure!

*Silly mush warning* Sometimes when I look at her I am so overwhelmed by the love I have for her it makes me want to cry! (And I never used to be a cryer!) She's just so wonderful and I can't believe how lucky we are. We are so blessed. *end of mush (sorry)*

I'm 7 months old!

"So, like, no big deal folks but I'm 7 months old today.""As you can see I'm pretty damn good at standing. I know, I'm pretty sweet like that. You know what else makes me cool? I have a shit ton of bath toys. But I think I need a few more. You can never have too many toys. And there are a couple open spots in the water that still need a toy. See?"

"So yeah, anyway, I just wanted to toot my own horn a bit and let you all know it's my birthday today. Happy birthday to ME!!! Yay!!!"

xoxo~
Charlie

(Happy 7 months Charlie Ann! You definitely are the coolest baby I know! And you need to watch your language you naughty girl. I don't know where you learn that from. Love, Mommy) :)
