Are you ready for some football?

God, she makes me smile.  :)

I have a love/hate relationship with football.  I love the sport, I hate that it means winter will be here in no time flat.  That being said, right now I'm loving it b/c the weather is still beautiful and I love catching the Cyclones on Saturday and the NFL teams on Sunday!

Last weekend the Cyclones beat the Hawks away from home!  This was incredible!  The game was great (although both teams played sloppy)!  Here's a pic of Charlie in her ISU gear.  Cutest little Cyclone ever!
Go ISU!!!

Charlie got her first black eye at daycare last week.  When I went to pick her up it was just a goose egg on her brow bone and it's now completely black, blue and green.  Pretty nasty looking!  They said she was walking and just tripped over her own two feet!  I find that very easy to believe b/c honestly I'm surprised this is her first black eye w/ how often she falls and what a klutz she is.  What can I say?  She takes after me in the gracefulness category (or lack thereof).  Ha!

I started my new job last Wednesday and although I think I'm going to really like it once I get trained and comfortable with it I'm not liking my commute home.  It means less time with Charlie which makes me sad.  The evenings fly by when I don't even get home until almost 6 and Charlie goes to bed around 8-8:30.  I guess I can just say I've been spoiled.  At my old job I had a 5 minute commute.  It was literally 1 mile from our house.  I could have walked/rode my bike there (but never did b/c I'm a lazy terd).  So the 45 min drive home from my new job is killing me.  I'll get over it but I just wanted to complain about it.  :)

Nothing much else to report.  We've been having fun like normal.  We took Charlie on her first golf game.  She loved the cart and running around on the greens!

We also hit up a block party on Sunday and Charlie had an absolute BLAST dancing to the bands.  She even had a little fan club who cheered her on and kept telling me how adorable she was.  As a mom, I'll listen to people tell me how cute they think my daughter is anytime b/c I agree!  :)

Happy Monday!  We're one day closer to the weekend!

Cheers!

Push, push... in the bush! *

Last year there was Arbor Mist in that water bottle...

It’s that special time of the year again. That’s right, the joyous time I hit you all up for money. But relax. It’s for a good cause, as always. (Which unfortunately for me means it will not be going into my bank account to fund my shopping habit.)

You see, for the last 3 years I have participated in finding a cure for MS. I wish I could say I’m a genius lab tech who slaves away and actually invents these miraculous drugs to kill the disease but no, I’m just a measly little woman who rides her bike for 150 miles or walks for 2 miles. This year, being that I’m knocked up, I’ll be doing the walk. At the time of the walk I will be a whopping 28 weeks pregnant. To those of you who need help with that, it's 7 months huge! I will likely be as large as a house. Or at the very least an SUV. Let’s take a look at how this could be bad for me…
  • I could lose my sense of balance (since I will be ginormous) and trip and fall on my face. Road rash on my face will not be aesthetically pleasing nor will it feel nice.
  • I get winded very easily (like a 90 year old asthmatic) and will likely need to sit and rest numerous times which will mean the 2 mile walk will take us approximately 8 hours to complete.

  • Last year my dog stopped and took a shit right in front of the hundreds/thousands of people walking along side us. This was the 1st and last time I have ever felt the need to pick up his shit. This also happened directly before walking onto a bridge that we were stuck on for 15 minutes which led to 15 minutes of me holding my dog’s still warm dookie in a plastic baggie. This better not happen again.

  • Last year I also enjoyed a fabulous water bottle filled with Arbor Mist. Unfortunately the doc says I shouldn’t indulge in that whilst pregnant. So my water bottle will be filled with… water. Boring!

  • All the strenuous walking may cause me to get contractions which will definitely slow down my walking pace to a crawl. As my friend Katie, who has MS has stated, she will push me in a wheelchair if need be. How about that? The amazing woman w/ MS pushing the fat ass pregnant lady!
This is me at 18 weeks. Add on 10 more weeks of belly. Like whoa.

Alas, I’m sure there are numerous other possibilities of things going badly. Regardless, I am hoping the walk goes off without a hitch and I easily make the 2 mile trek b/c I want to do this for Katie. She is the strongest woman I know and luckily for her she is currently on a drug that is working miracles in her body. Unfortunately, not all MS patients can say the same. It is a debilitating disease and one that we desperately need to fight to find the cure for. So please, take a moment, go to my page and donate. It’s tax deductible! Uncle Sam wants you to do it! And like last year if you donate I will linky dink to you and thank you over and over again. Maybe even lick your face off. (If you like that sort of thing...)

Rock on!

*Yeah, I know this title has absolutely nothing to do with this post but I am the blog author and can do what I want. It was the first thing that came to my head and well, I wanted to say bush. Haha, I said bush. Tough shit.

I see your true colors shining through...

A week later and my run in with the concrete post is showing it's colors better than ever. It's kind of hard to tell but my entire knee cap is still a little swollen and it is yellow w/ splotches of purple and on the outside lower part of my knee it is entirely purple. Pretty eh? Purple and yellow, just for the Vikings! Too bad it's a buy week for them! Haha! This isn't even including the hefty (but nowhere near as bad) bruising I have on my left knee, left elbow and upper right thigh. Yep. I'm slick.

So to everyone out there, beware of those pesky concrete posts. They are sneaky little fuckers. You won't even know what hit you until you are flat on your arse and crying in the wind and rain and having your husband, sister and boyfriend look down at you and laughing at your graceful (read: klutzy) fall. (This winner of a picture was taken minutes after my fall. Notice how my darling hubby is smiling and holding my stupid broken umbrella which was the cause of my fall. Zero sympathy. Thanks.) Real nice.

You'd think that my sister would be more sympathetic to my fall being that not long ago she took a spill down concrete steps at work. So yeah, the smoothness... it must run in the family. Take a look at her goodies. We are awesome.
On a side note, on Sunday I will have had this blog going for 2 years! I can't believe it's been that long already. I'm not asking for any congrats messages. I just want to tell you all that it has been a blast and I'm going to keep on keepin on w/ the blog even if sometimes I get a little boring. Just don't read me if I ramble! :) Love you guys!

Cheers~
