Charlie's Halloween costume

As the norm lately I'm late to the game. Here is Charlie in her Halloween costume. She ended up wanting to be a kitty and was adorable.
She had so much fun trick or treating this year with Hunter and Mason. It's a blast to watch those kids get so amped up! Happy late Halloween and early Thanksgiving!!!

Fall Fun

It's definitely getting cool here. Today's high was in the upper 40's. A bit chilly but we bundled up and enjoyed it because these days are limited for sure!  We're all set for Halloween. Pumpkin is carved and costume is purchased. Charlie first said she wanted to be a princess but once we got to the store and showed her probably 20+ princess costumes she totally changed her mind and chose something else. I don't want to ruin the surprise but let's just say this mama is happy she chose a costume that is more toddler than child because I'm guessing next year she'll only want foo-foo dresses. I'll be sure to post a pic of her in her costume after Halloween. In the meantime, happy Halloween everyone! Cheers!

Trick or treat. Smell my feet.

Charlie had so much fun this Halloween! We didn't really go door to door bc she's still a bit young for that so we just took her to a neighbors house and then up to our friends, Bob and Amy's. She then proceeded to eat her body weight in candy (thanks to Amy being a sucker for her pleading to her for "Mo. Mo peas." which in her language is "more, more please"). After inhaling all that candy she ran around with a sugar high and had a great time seeing lots of other kids dressed up come by. All in all, a great time.

And here is Charlie is her puppy costume that she picked out. She was an adorable puppy if I do say so. Biased or not. :)

Happy Halloween!

Give me candy so my mom & dad can eat it!  Thanks!

No! Jack-o-lantern! No!

We carved Charlie's 1st Jack-o-lantern on Sunday afternoon.  She thought it was pretty cool until she tried to eat the raw seeds, I scolded her and told her not to and she cried.  I'm such a mean mom.  :)

Regardless, she still thought it was pretty sweet which is evidenced by her numerous "oooooooo" faces.

New this week, she is now saying the word "no".  I knew this was only a matter of time until she started saying this to me.  Luckily as of now she has only said it a handful of times but I know in a short time it will be the only word she will say to me.  This parenting thing is about to get difficult.  Yowzers.

Loves,
Kel

Firsts

This morning I dropped Charlie off at daycare for the very first time. It was so hard to leave her there! It’s like you are handing your whole life over to someone you barely know and trusting them to care for it like you would. I’m sure she will do fine and probably even grow to love it there but it is hard on me! I finally had to just leave b/c I was starting to cry! And now when I think about her there I start to tear up so I’m trying my hardest not to think of her. (But that is impossible). I know, I’m a wuss.

Last night was Charlie’s first Halloween! She was a bumble bee and absolutely adorable! She’s so long though that she was already too big for the costume! Her legs couldn’t straighten out all the way and it was size 0-6 months! I’m not sure where she’s getting this height from. Definitely not me.

Anyway, things are busy around our house. Kara’s wedding is fast approaching and thus all the fun wedding activities are all going on. We’ve gone to 2 showers already and her bachelorette party is coming up on the 13th. That will be a lot of fun! And then after that it seems like it’s holiday season already and we’ll have to get started on the Christmas shopping! I can’t wait for Charlie’s first Christmas! She’ll be too young to really enjoy the gifts and all that but it will be so fun still! And then in January is the actual wedding down in Puerto Rico! We’ve got a lot ahead of us on our calendars and we are so blessed! Can’t wait for all this fun!

I see your true colors shining through...

A week later and my run in with the concrete post is showing it's colors better than ever. It's kind of hard to tell but my entire knee cap is still a little swollen and it is yellow w/ splotches of purple and on the outside lower part of my knee it is entirely purple. Pretty eh? Purple and yellow, just for the Vikings! Too bad it's a buy week for them! Haha! This isn't even including the hefty (but nowhere near as bad) bruising I have on my left knee, left elbow and upper right thigh. Yep. I'm slick.

So to everyone out there, beware of those pesky concrete posts. They are sneaky little fuckers. You won't even know what hit you until you are flat on your arse and crying in the wind and rain and having your husband, sister and boyfriend look down at you and laughing at your graceful (read: klutzy) fall. (This winner of a picture was taken minutes after my fall. Notice how my darling hubby is smiling and holding my stupid broken umbrella which was the cause of my fall. Zero sympathy. Thanks.) Real nice.

You'd think that my sister would be more sympathetic to my fall being that not long ago she took a spill down concrete steps at work. So yeah, the smoothness... it must run in the family. Take a look at her goodies. We are awesome.
On a side note, on Sunday I will have had this blog going for 2 years! I can't believe it's been that long already. I'm not asking for any congrats messages. I just want to tell you all that it has been a blast and I'm going to keep on keepin on w/ the blog even if sometimes I get a little boring. Just don't read me if I ramble! :) Love you guys!

Cheers~

Halloweiner nearly killed me

No weekly want-it's post this week. I am a wreck. This weekend was so much fun it nearly killed me. I am still trying to recover. I had an unfortunate run in with a concrete post (literally). My knee is a nice shade of purple so it cheered on the Vikings yesterday for another win against Green Bay. Yay! :) But other than my knee looking like a purple baseball this weekend was awesome!

We had two parties we went to over the weekend and both were a great time. Friday night we went to our friend Zach's party (thanks Zach!) and Saturday we went to Picosa. Since I killed way too many brain cells this weekend I'll just let the pictures do the talking. Enjoy. *Doesn't Wade make a great bull? Haha!

How was everyone else's Halloween? Anything fun or exciting happen?

Happy Monday!

Flea Biscuit, Wine in a Diet Coke Can and Halloweiner

Thank goodness it is Thursday. The end of the week is near. Halloweiner is coming and so is my dear sis and her boy toy, Todd. Teehee. We will be having a blast and I can't wait!

Kobe, my little dear pup, has somehow got fleas. He has never in his 7 years on earth had fleas so I don't know what to do. I've bathed him twice and put a flea collar on him. Last night I went Nazi on our house and washed our sheets, his doggie bed and the blankets we had laying around and I vacuumed the carpets and rugs. How the heck do you get rid of these damn fuckers? I am about to fumigate our entire house b/c it is making me all paranoid that I have fleas and making me itchy and I am going insane trying to figure out if I really am itchy or if it is all in my head! I'm going psycho! So any suggestions from my dear friends would be greatly appreciated.

Tonight we will be watching It's Always Sunny and drinking Riot Juice out of milk jugs. Can this show get any better? Seriously if you are not watching it then shame on you. I'm not sure we can be friends. Just kidding. We can be friends but I will leave you in the dust w/ my IASIP jokes and references and then you will feel dumb. Here I am last week w/ our rad neighbors. I had the worst wine headache all day last Friday so here's to hoping the Riot Juice will not do the same to me tomorrow. *crossing fingers*

Kobe is going to be a Rock Lobster* for Halloween. It was the only costume I could find in his size. He hates it b/c it has an attached hood/hat so I have a feeling he will be wearing it for a total of 5 minutes. But isn't he adorable??? *If you don't get the Rock Lobster reference, check out this video. Family Guy is great.
I was looking to see what we went as for Halloween last year and couldn't find any pics. That must mean that last year was lame and we didn't dress up for some reason. If I don't remember it then it couldn't have been anything spectacular. Right? Or my memory is just for shit (which it is). So instead here is a picture from Halloween 2007. I was a deviant housewife w/ my "handyman" Wade, Kara was a hippie and Nicole was a cowgirl. And yes, those are condoms in my pocket. Safety first!!! :)

Coming up tomorrow night, a party at my friend Zach's place and our 1st chance to wear our costumes. I can't wait but Wade is dreading it b/c he hates his bull costume. Then Saturday night another costume party at Picosa. So we get to wear our costumes TWICE! This has me majorly stoked and Wade majorly pissed. Oh well. I think our costumes will be a hit! Pictures will be sure to be posted next week so stop on back here! Until then I hope you all have a rad Halloweiner! Have a ball but be safe! I think we are taking the bus again! Whoopee! Responsibility FTW!

Happy Halloweiner! (I just wanted to type weiner again, I know I'm adolescent.)

xoxo~

I'll Matador Your Bull

They are ordered folks. Be ready for some awesome costume pictures after Halloween! Teehee!!!

Also, last weekend's neighbor night out was a raging success! We popped all of our bus riding cherries! We actually took the bus downtown b/c we were all going to be drinking. Whoa, wait? We were responsible!?!?! WTF? It only took us 30 years to become responsible adults! :) Here we are waiting for the bus. We are too cool for school!

Dinner was great ($5 Woodchuck litres!), we got free entry into The Seville (a classy strip joint) so we popped some strip club cherries too, followed by drinks at O'Donovan's and then onto more drinks at the Loop. Hungover mess all day Sunday but it was well worth it. It usually is. That is why I continue to torture myself. Such a blast! We have to do it again soon! CHEERS!!!

Awe-Summm!!!

Let's start things off by giving at huge Thank You to BonBon Rose for a fabulous award! These truly make my day! Thank you!!!

I want to give this award to any followers of mine who are award virgins! You all rock and I want to thank you guys for being readers! So if you have never had an award before please take this one; it's deserved! There you go! I popped your award cherry!

Please excuse this lame post as I'm a little hungover from girls night last night. I always have fun w/ my ladies and like usual had a little bit too much fun. I know. Weird. But we had to cheer on the Twinkies (even though they lost horribly)! So this post will just be a short update.

This weekend we will be home again and hopefully will get some housework done for once. I've got quite a lengthy 'to do' list that we need to start tackling before the weather gets too out of control cold and we are quickly running out of time to do it!

Other than all the fun and exciting housework we are actually going OUT w/ the neighbors this weekend! I can't wait! Of course we get to hang out quite frequently but we never get to go out w/ them since they have lil kiddos and it's hard for them to get out. So this will be a great time! We're going to do dinner at Gluek's and then just see where the night takes us. I'm looking forward to it! Party time!

And... get excited b/c I've convinced the hubs to be the bull and matador for Halloween! No freaking way! So pumped! So now I have to get my ass on it and order the dang things! This is going to be so great! :)

That's all I've got for you. Now where is my Advil?
