Fall Fun

It's definitely getting cool here. Today's high was in the upper 40's. A bit chilly but we bundled up and enjoyed it because these days are limited for sure!  We're all set for Halloween. Pumpkin is carved and costume is purchased. Charlie first said she wanted to be a princess but once we got to the store and showed her probably 20+ princess costumes she totally changed her mind and chose something else. I don't want to ruin the surprise but let's just say this mama is happy she chose a costume that is more toddler than child because I'm guessing next year she'll only want foo-foo dresses. I'll be sure to post a pic of her in her costume after Halloween. In the meantime, happy Halloween everyone! Cheers!

Fun at the apple orchard

Happy fall ya'll!

Last weekend we took a trip to an apple orchard. It was the first time taking Charlie there and it was a great time! They had so much for kids to do. A corn maze, petting zoo, train ride, slides, tractor hay rack rides, etc. we totally wore Charlie out and took home a big bag of honey crisp apples. Yum!

Pumpkin Patch, Racing & Conquering the TUNNEL!

What a great weekend and it isn't quite over yet!  Our weather could not get any better.  It's been around 80 degrees and sunny the entire weekend!  Loving this "Indian Summer".  (Does anyone even know why they call it that???)  Anyway, this post will be mostly pictures b/c I took a shit ton of them!

Friday night we didn't do much.  Went out to eat at Joe Senser's which is always good.  Charlie crop dusted the entire restaurant when we left.  How do I know this?  B/c I was carrying her out of the restaurant and I could feel my hand vibrating from her farts.  Ha!  Good thing we were leaving!  Hope it wasn't too smelly!  :)

Saturday started out relaxing and slow paced but after Charlie's nap we picked it up!  We headed down to Sever's corn maze which was great!  We had never been there before but our old neighbors said it was a good time so we decided to check it out.  At $13 per person it isn't cheap, actually kind of a rip, but there is a lot to do so I guess it's worth it in the end.  And luckily Charlie is still young enough that she is free.  Phew!  We started out by getting some cheese curds and a corn dog.  Tasty!  Then we headed to the corn pit.  Charlie LOVED it!  It was so fun to watch her in there.  She would sit and stare at all the other kids in the pit and then get a huge grin on her face and start picking up the corn and letting it all fall out of her hands and then flinging it around.  She couldn't get enough of it!
Dipping her feet in for the 1st time

"Ooooooooooo corn!"

"Ooooooooooo more corn!"
After that we decided to check out the "exotic" petting zoo.  (Get your minds out of the gutter!  They were animals!  Ha!)  They had camels, alpacas, goats, sheep, some kind of deer like animal, wallabys, and several other little animals.  Charlie was terrified of the goats for some reason which was funny but we didn't want to scar her for life so we decided to head out to the pig race that was going to start any minute.
What terrifying animals!!!

To say Charlie was not impressed with the pig race was an understatement.  She could care less.  She was more interested in people watching and playing with a stick and barely glanced at the pigs but it was still pretty funny to watch.
"Ooooooooo a stick! Who cares about the pig races?"

She makes a cute piggy!

One last stop back in the corn pit and we decided we'd better head home so we could get some dinner in Charlie before heading out again.  I can't wait to go back next year when Charlie will be able to enjoy the pumpkin patch even more.  There was SO much more to do that she was still too little for.  A corn maze and straw bale maze, jungle gyms, giant slides, giant blow up jumping "pillows" and a magic show just to name a few things we didn't get to do.  I can guarantee we'll be back again next year!

"Oooooooooo a corn stalk!"

After getting a bit of food in Charlie's belly and picking all the stowaway pieces of corn out of her diaper and clothes we headed out again to go down to Elko for the "Eve of Destruction"!  They have all sorts of different vehicle races going on.  Motorcycles, cars, school buses, etc.  They even have some monster trucks and this time they had an actual tank that crushed some cars.  Charlie LOVED the monster trucks.  She totally zoned out when they were out driving around.  It was fun to watch her see all this kind of stuff for the first time.  Her eyes would get huge and she would do her ever famous "Ooooooooooo" face.  I think she set a new record for how many times she made that face in one day.  Hilarious.

We headed home a bit early b/c Charlie was exhausted.  She zonked out the minute we hit the road.  What a fun and busy day for our little peanut!  She's such a treat!  I just love taking her new places to see what she thinks of everything!

Today we are relaxing, cleaning up a bit, watching our fantasy football teams and playing.  Charlie finally conquered her fear of the crawl tunnel she got for her birthday and now LOVES the thing so she crawls back and forth, back and forth, back and forth through it over and over again.  As soon as Charlie wakes up from her nap we are going to carve the pumpkin that Omi and Paps gave her the other weekend.  We'll see if she likes to stick her hand in the pumpkin goo.  Should be fun to watch her face when she grabs it for the first time.  Who wants to bet she makes her "Oooooooooo" face?  :)
No fear (anymore)!  :)

Give Me a Bone Here People!

So the seasons are changing, the leaves are turning different colors and it’s getting cold. Fall is officially here in MN. Yesterday was beautiful, but I hate to admit that Wade and I have already turned the heat on a few nights. Yikes. It’s gonna be a long winter I think. And maybe that is why I have nothing to write. My mind is seriously blank. Usually when it gets cold here I go through a depression slump b/c I don’t want the warm weather to come to an end, but this is just too early. It’s only October 7th. This isn’t supposed to hit me until the end of the month. What happened to fall!?! It feels like it is jumping straight into winter! Maybe my mind is blank b/c Wade and I have 4 (yes, FOUR!) weekends in a row w/ NO plans. This is unheard of. It’s weird. And kind of depressing really. It’s a good thing b/c it’s forcing us to get housework done and save a bit of money, but really it just makes the weekends feel like they never happened. Just yesterday when I came into work it didn’t feel like a Monday. It felt like I never left the damn office. That just ain’t right. It sucks big donkey balls. Maybe I’m in need of a little change. Maybe we can get Guitar Hero. I’ve got a $75 Best Buy gift card. That will pay for about half of the ridiculously expensive as hell game. WTF. You seriously need to have $150 on hand to purchase that game and a 2nd guitar to go w/ it. And you’ve GOT to get the 2nd guitar b/c playing it alone just isn’t the same as rocking out w/ your buds.

I think I’m going to go buy it this week. Then Wade and I can get drunk together and rock our socks off. That's even better, drunk naked Guitar Hero. Kick ass.
