Pumpkin Patch, Racing & Conquering the TUNNEL!
Friday night we didn't do much. Went out to eat at Joe Senser's which is always good. Charlie crop dusted the entire restaurant when we left. How do I know this? B/c I was carrying her out of the restaurant and I could feel my hand vibrating from her farts. Ha! Good thing we were leaving! Hope it wasn't too smelly! :)
Saturday started out relaxing and slow paced but after Charlie's nap we picked it up! We headed down to Sever's corn maze which was great! We had never been there before but our old neighbors said it was a good time so we decided to check it out. At $13 per person it isn't cheap, actually kind of a rip, but there is a lot to do so I guess it's worth it in the end. And luckily Charlie is still young enough that she is free. Phew! We started out by getting some cheese curds and a corn dog. Tasty! Then we headed to the corn pit. Charlie LOVED it! It was so fun to watch her in there. She would sit and stare at all the other kids in the pit and then get a huge grin on her face and start picking up the corn and letting it all fall out of her hands and then flinging it around. She couldn't get enough of it!
Dipping her feet in for the 1st time |
"Ooooooooooo corn!" |
"Ooooooooooo more corn!" |
What terrifying animals!!! |
To say Charlie was not impressed with the pig race was an understatement. She could care less. She was more interested in people watching and playing with a stick and barely glanced at the pigs but it was still pretty funny to watch.
"Ooooooooo a stick! Who cares about the pig races?" |
She makes a cute piggy! |
One last stop back in the corn pit and we decided we'd better head home so we could get some dinner in Charlie before heading out again. I can't wait to go back next year when Charlie will be able to enjoy the pumpkin patch even more. There was SO much more to do that she was still too little for. A corn maze and straw bale maze, jungle gyms, giant slides, giant blow up jumping "pillows" and a magic show just to name a few things we didn't get to do. I can guarantee we'll be back again next year!
"Oooooooooo a corn stalk!" |
After getting a bit of food in Charlie's belly and picking all the stowaway pieces of corn out of her diaper and clothes we headed out again to go down to Elko for the "Eve of Destruction"! They have all sorts of different vehicle races going on. Motorcycles, cars, school buses, etc. They even have some monster trucks and this time they had an actual tank that crushed some cars. Charlie LOVED the monster trucks. She totally zoned out when they were out driving around. It was fun to watch her see all this kind of stuff for the first time. Her eyes would get huge and she would do her ever famous "Ooooooooooo" face. I think she set a new record for how many times she made that face in one day. Hilarious.
We headed home a bit early b/c Charlie was exhausted. She zonked out the minute we hit the road. What a fun and busy day for our little peanut! She's such a treat! I just love taking her new places to see what she thinks of everything!
Today we are relaxing, cleaning up a bit, watching our fantasy football teams and playing. Charlie finally conquered her fear of the crawl tunnel she got for her birthday and now LOVES the thing so she crawls back and forth, back and forth, back and forth through it over and over again. As soon as Charlie wakes up from her nap we are going to carve the pumpkin that Omi and Paps gave her the other weekend. We'll see if she likes to stick her hand in the pumpkin goo. Should be fun to watch her face when she grabs it for the first time. Who wants to bet she makes her "Oooooooooo" face? :)
No fear (anymore)! :) |

You win some, you lose some, you break some
In other good news, we got our tub refinished on Monday and it looks like a brand new tub! I love it! I am thinking I’ll be bathing in it tonight! Just call me Shamu! :) We also got our new mirror/medicine cabinet and lights last night and Wade will be installing them either tonight or Saturday. He’ll be out of business all day Friday w/ a numb arm. (Insert stranger hand jokes here. Teehee.) So once these last two items are installed our bathroom is DONE! Hallelujah.

I’ve got my 38 week OB appointment tomorrow afternoon. We’ll see if anymore progress has been made. At my appointment last week I was just under a fingertip dilated. Although not much (at all) it made me excited to hear that at least something is going on and she’s getting ready to make her appearance. I’m still keeping my fingers crossed that I have her on the 19th to honor my Grandma, but at this point I don’t think it is likely…
Happy Thursday everyone! TGTIF! (Thank God Tomorrow Is Friday!)

Randomness is all my brain can handle at this point
So I've got 3 weeks left. My brain is scrambled. I feel huge (nothing new there but I didn't think I could feel any huger 3 weeks ago, now I am dreading what I will feel like in another 3 weeks). Luckily the end is in sight and I can now say I am due this month. Since my brain is fried I thought I'd throw out some randomness that I've been meaning to post but just haven't gotten around to it. Bullet points baby.
- I finally ordered our crib bedding. It should be delivered today. I can't wait. We decided to go with this set:
- I also ordered a wall bookcase since Wade decided he probably wouldn't get around to making one in time. We should get that next week. Yay!
- I worked my ass off last weekend and got most of the nursery in order. Loads and loads of laundry full of baby clothes and blankets were done along with hanging up a mobile, growth chart and mirror. I can finally look in that room and picture a baby living in it! (I'll post some pics soon!)
- Wade crashed last weekend at his race and broke his wrist. I said it's not getting him out of diaper duty so he'd better hope it heals fast. No sympathy from me!
- I don't recall if I shared this w/ ya'll or not and I'm too lazy to look back at my posts so... this is the adorable outfit Nugget will be sporting on her trip home from the hospital. She's going to look SO cute!
- I've been upgraded to weekly OB visits so I get to find out if I am progressing towards labor every week. I can't wait to go this afternoon. It's so fun having them dig around down there. (That is sarcasm.)
- Our 4th of July was tame compared to our past. We grilled out with the neighbors and watched their kiddos do some bare chest dancing (hilarious) and just hung out. Unfortunately I started to get really uncomfortable and tired and I was home and on the couch by 8:30. I am officially Lamey McLamerton.
- I'm tired of people looking at me and telling me "Any day now" or "Wow, you're really pregnant" or one of several other options. I know I resemble a beached whale. I know I look like I'm going to pop. You don't have to remind me. Now pass the cheese puffs.
- Little Nugget is supposedly weighing in at a massive 6 pounds at this point. That seems unreal to me. That is until she kicks my bladder or shoves her foot into my ribs or stretches my belly farther than I ever thought possible and then I know she's got to be big b/c it is painful!
- Coming up this weekend? A whole lotta nothing. We don't have anything going on between now and Nugget's due date. So we are pretty boring. Thus my lack in posting. I just don't have all that much to share. I guess we've reached the boring wait-it-out stage. I can't wait when I can post and finally share some exciting news w/ you guys!

How bout you guys? Anything new going on? I need to live vicariously through you all b/c my life certainly is not exciting at this point. But hey, I guess it will be pretty soon!

You've got to pay the troll toll...
Sunday we relaxed all morning and then went mini golfing and eventually made our way downtown for the Twins game. The weather was not cooperative during the first 3 innings but eventually cleared up and the Twins won! So another fun and successful night!
Thursday is our next ultrasound to check the placenta again and see if it has moved further from the cervix opening. So I’ll have some more pics to share of our little Nugget later this week. I can’t wait to get to see her again! :) At this point she is supposed to be near 4 pounds! She’s getting so big. Well, at least I’m assuming she is b/c I DEFINITELY am! Ugh!
Other than that nothing too big going on this week. I plan on starting in on the massive amount of laundry that I need to do before Nugget arrives. That should be a blast. And hopefully Wade and I will find a recliner that we can agree on to put in Nugget’s room so we can get her room put together finally. Such exciting lives we lead… :)
Only 8 more weeks until I can enjoy a nice cold one. Mmmm... (Don't you love how I count down to drinking?)
Hope you all had a splendid long weekend and have an even better week!
xoxo~

Gadzooks! When did I get old?
Tonight Wade is motorcycle racing in Shakopee and hopefully can win some moolah. Last weekend he took a spill at his flat track race and ended up breaking his big toe (but he still won his main event! Badass!). The doctor gave him this silly looking foot brace thing that he has wore a total of 30 minutes while he weed whipped the yard. He is walking on the outside of his foot instead b/c he said the brace is too big and looks like a slipper. Probably not the best way for it to heal but I do agree that the thing looks ridiculous. The things we sacrifice for fashion; in this case his big toe. No biggie. It's just a toe. He's got 9 more.
We’ll be picking up Kara’s beautiful wedding dress tomorrow afternoon, watching Wade race in Elko tomorrow night and then Sunday we are hitting Target Field for our 1st Twins game at the new stadium. I’ve heard wonderful things about it so hopefully the weather is nice like they are predicting. A weekend full of fun! The only way it could be better is if I could drink. Sobriety is overrated.
Yesterday marked the single digit countdown in my weeks left of pregnancy. That’s right, there are only 9 weeks separating me from my estimated due date. Hopefully I won’t go past my due date but it is always a possibility. I’m hoping and keeping my fingers crossed that if anything I go a tad early. I’m ready to be done with this pregnancy shit (although I’m not sure I’m ready to be a mother, but who ever is?). It’s not that my pregnancy has been bad b/c in reality it’s been smooth sailing, but I’m not one of those women who just LOVE to be pregnant.
Um. No. That is not me. Don’t get me wrong. I am blessed and grateful that Wade and I are able to have Nugget. But I won’t be sad when I’m no longer pregnant. I’ll be chugging down a Blue Moon or a Crispin or a bottle of wine or margaritas or... well, name your poison. I'll be drinking it. :)
The only cool thing about being knocked up is getting to feel her kicks, but even then sometimes they are bothersome. Also, I’m starting to get to the big uncomfortable stage and with the temps heating up, my feet and cankles don’t like the water retention swelling that is going on. My toes look like little summer sausages but not nearly as appetizing. So I’m hoping for a July 19th birthday. That would be 10 days earlier than my due date and my grandma’s birthday. What a way to be able to celebrate her memory! I’m hopeful that if I do end up having to have a c-section then maybe I can choose that date. If I don’t need a c-section then that date is highly unlikely. But one can hope!
What are you all up to on this glorious long Memorial Day weekend? Hope you all have fun plans!
Catch ya on the flip side!

Summa, Summa, Summa-time
Last weekend was no different. We drove to Illinois so Wade could race Sat and Sun while I hung out with the in-laws and my family who joined us there as well. We golfed, drank, shopped, drank, watched some racing, drank, boated, drank, gambled, drank and oh yeah, drank some more. It was a great weekend. The only way it could have been any better is if it had been about 10 degrees warmer and then we would have actually gotten into the water at the lake instead of just cruising around it. So no tanned tummy like I was wanting. But it was still wonderful.
This weekend we are actually going to be at home. I desperately need to get some house work done b/c I have been neglecting it since we've been gone all the time. The house is in shambles! And since football season is quickly approaching we'll be traveling some more to go watch the Cyclones get their asses handed to them (like always). So this weekened will be Boring (see that capital B, yep, that means super mega Boring). So nothing interesting for you guys today. So sorry. Here, take a look at this picture of Kobe and Bo b/c they're cute and maybe it will make this post not be a complete and total waste. This was taken right before Kobe started trying to hump the shit out of Bo on the boat.

Good news, everybody, we're extending arts and crafts time by four hours today.
That's right. My good friend, Drew came up to town and lucky me, he had an extra ticket to the PGA. We saw Tiger, Ernie, Vijay, Zach, Phil, Vang and all those guys who are so awesome at getting it in the hole. :) I must say that Tiger is a lot bigger in person than I thought he would be. Hunka-dunk. It was a very cool experience and I'm glad Drew took my ass along! Thanks D ~ You rule!
Since I sat on my sick ass ALL day Saturday I was feeling a wee bit more energized on Sunday and joined the hubs and some other friends of ours on a day long motorcycle cruise through Western Wisconsin. It is really gorgeous all along the river and we had a great time in beautiful weather riding and stopping for some beverages along the way. It's a great way to enjoy a lazy Sunday!

- To tan my stomach (which hasn't seen the sun yet this summer)
- Hope that I learned something from the pros and my golf game miraculously improves
- Wear my new bathing suit that I purchased (with your input!)
- Drink until I can't feel feelings anymore! Yay!
- Spend some QT w/ the fam and relax, relax, relax!
So my internets friends, what fantabulous plans do you all have going on for the weekend? Anything fun?

A Little B-day Boogy-ing

We took off Friday (the 1st) and Monday (the 4th) to make a long b-day weekend for Wade. Wade raced Friday and Saturday nights and was really excited to be able to race on “good” tracks finally. He says all the tracks up here are shitty. On Friday night he definitely had the largest fan club in attendance. Basically his whole family was there to cheer him on and it was great to get to see all of them. And lucky for us, it was also the Knox County Fair, so we got to enjoy the beer tent as well as his race.

While he was busy racing we hit the lake. Milly, Kara and I enjoyed cruising around and taking a dip at the shallow area. Kobe and Otis on the other hand hated it.

Sunday morning we got to golf 9 holes and my game improved from last time, (thankfully!), but it still pretty much sucked. The improvement must have been b/c of my new golf glove. I’m sure of it! After golfing Kara, Wade and I headed to his dad’s house for a family pool party. Good food, good drinks and good water volleyball! We had a lot of fun getting to see all the nieces and nephew. They’re getting so dang tall! They TOWER over me!
It was a great long weekend and I definitely didn’t want to go back to work Tuesday, but then again, when do I want to go back to work??? Gotta pay da bills tho, yo!

This last weekend was Brad & Erika’s MN reception at Bryant Lake Park. It was an absolutely gorgeous day! It turned out perfectly. Afterwards we all headed out to Uptown Drink and got some food and had a great night out. We played some Big Buck Hunter, which I LOVE! Here are some funny pics from that night out. It was a lot of fun.

Coming up this weekend we will be going on a motorcycle ride w/ some friends all day Saturday and hitting the bars along the way. Then on Sunday we get to go to Valley Fair for Wade’s company outing. Valley Fair is always a good time. I love the Steel Venom ride! I swear my stomach comes out my throat and that is always fun!
Adieu!
