I get this face a lot...

And these are just from a handful of May photos.  What does this look mean?  Either she gets it from me doing it to her, or she thinks I'm an idiot.  :)

Cheers~

Wrestle Mania!

Charlie loves herself a good wrestle match on the floor.   She dives right at us w/ tongue out and shows no fear.  It's hilarious.  She giggles and giggles.  It's turned into one of my favorite past times.  Whenever she has a giant grin on her face, I'm happy.  Also, I've lost track of the number of times she's almost nailed Wade right where it counts.  One of these times she's gonna get him good and I'll have a little chuckle.  :)
Planning her attack mode!

Diving in!

Ahhhh!  I've got her now!

Post wrestle snuggles!

Splish Splash Charlie's Taking A Bath

Girl loves her bathtime. She is offically a splashing pro and gets Mommy & Daddy soaking wet. I love it.
Notice Wade's hands trying to block some of the splashing. It didn't work.

Happy weekend!

The Emergence of Mean Face

A few weeks ago I taught Charlie how to do "mean" face.  It's hilarious.  If you look at her w/ "mean" face she'll do it back to you and if you say "Charlie, show me your mean face" she'll get all serious, flash her mean face and then immediately start smiling.  I love it.

Happy Veteran's Day!!!!

The Look

Seriously Mom?

I seem to get this look from her a lot.  Unfortunately I taught it to her (inadvertently) and I expect to continue seeing it for quite some time...

(Not) Wordless Wednesday

Everyone say a little prayer for my little peanut.  She's had a fever the past 2 days and not feeling well at all.  We took her to the doctor who ran some tests and is thinking it's a viral infection that we just have to wait out.  I hate seeing her not feeling well.  It breaks my heart.  So please say a prayer that it's just a little virus and she starts feeling better and fast.  Thanks all!

And I'll leave you with this adorable pic.  She was obviously not feeling sick at this point and enjoying her pony ride.  :)

Are you ready for some football???

So stoked football season is here!  I never used to get into the NFL.  I was more of a college football fan and could care less about the pros.  However now that I am in a fantasy league for the 2nd year in a row I get pumped for the games.

Yesterday however was my Alma maters big rival game.  Wade and I are both Iowa State alumni and we played against University of Iowa on Saturday.  If any of you caught the game it was one helluva game!  I about had a heart attack!  TRIPLE overtime and we finally cinched the deal 44-41.  Thank God!  It was an AWESOME game.  So fun to watch.

I think one of the reasons we pulled off the win is because we have the world's cutest cheerleader!

Don't you agree?

One more picture from this weekend I've got to share b/c it turned out so cute.  Charlie got to go to her friend Angela's 4th birthday party!  This is her right before we left.  She had a lot of fun hanging out and watching all the older kids play.  And she loved getting to meet Louie our friend's new baby boy they just brought home from Korea.  So fun!
Also, I taught Charlie how to dance today.  I have her hold onto the couch so she's stable and then I stand up and sway back and forth and then she starts to copy me.  It's so stinking adorable!  She's getting the best personality and she loves to dance.

And now I've got to run. I'm cheering on Dez Bryant and Jason Witten even though I don't really like the Cowboys all that much. One of the fall backs to fantasy football is you sometimes have to cheer for the team you don't like b/c your players will be on it. Oh well. Come on Dez! Get me some more points!!! :)

Happy Sunday Funday!

She's beautiful

Seriously. She's going to have the boys drooling one day. And yes, I'm aware that I am her mother and therefore a bit biased but for realsies just look at those eyes!

I know all I post about now is Charlie...

I can't help it though. As of now my life revolves around her. I'm still out on leave so I don't see adults for the majority of my time. I've gotten out of the house without her a handful of times but it is usually just to the mall or grocery store while Wade stays home with her. I've only gotten out for some fun three times in the last 7 weeks. Yikes. But that is the life of a new parent. Your time is no longer YOURS. A fun Friday night now consists of dinner out at Applebees and some wine/beer/liquor at home while watching a movie and maybe following that up with some ice cream. But all that is tied in with Charlie and whether or not she is cooperating and hopefully not screaming, shitting or spitting up all over exorcist style like she did Monday night. (Yeah, that was fun.)

But Charlie is so cute. I don't even mind it. Wha??? Who'da thunk it? I do miss my social life but it will return in due time. For the time being I will stay at home and stare at her adorable grey eyes (wondering what color they will turn out to be???), her long daddy-like toes, her Danny DeVito hair style, her big pouty lips, her growing buddah belly and her cute button nose. I wonder about what she will be like when she can talk. Will she be shy? (Doubtful w/ a mommy and daddy like us...) Will she be athletic? Will she like math, science, art? Will she be tall like her Grandma B's side or short like me? And the very important question: Will she like shopping with her Mommy??? Priorities people. Priorities.

Xoxo~

The first step is admitting you have a problem...

Before I had Charlie I'd have the occasional caffeinated beverage. Usually a coffee or pop in the morning and then maybe one later in the afternoon if I was dragging for some reason. However since having Charlie I have become addicted to caffeine. The lack of sleep makes me rely on some other stimulation to make it through the day which has me downing caffeine like none other. I'm going through enough Dr. Pepper that I should seriously look into buying stock in the company. And Folgers? God I love thee.

Charlie Bear has her mama wore out. But getting these smiles out of her... Totally worth it.
And somehow even these faces are priceless. :)

People are strange when you're a stranger

A little story for ya'll that happened two weeks ago and my pregnant brain just forgot to post about it. It really is quite ridiculous too. It goes like this...

It was just a normal work day and I got a phone call from a lady in our lobby who was there to deliver caramels to one of my co-workers. Since the co-worker was out at lunch I got my fat ass off the chair and waddled over to the lobby doors.

As I swing open the door to let this woman in I hear her squeal.

Crazy Caramel Lady: "Oh my! Aren't you just the cutest little pregnant thing?!?!?" (Not sure who she was looking at b/c I am definitely NOT little at this point)

Me: "Oh thank you. I don't feel cute or little but that is nice to hear."

CCL: "Do you know what you're having? Wait! Stop! Don't tell me! Let me guess!"

Me: (silent, awkward waiting)

CCL: "I just know it's a boy! It's a boy, right?"

Me: "Nope. Actually it's a girl."

CCL: "No way! Wait, turn around. Let me see your bottom."

Me: "Um... ah..." (I slightly turn to the side)

CCL: (reaching for my side belly) "I can't believe it's a girl! You're supposed to carry wide for a girl and you've still got a waist! And just look at your little bottom! I would have sworn you were having a boy!"

Me: "Well, thanks. I'll make sure my co-worker gets these caramels."

CCL: "When are you due? You've got to be due anytime now. I can just smell the baby coming out of you."

Me: (What I wanted to say: WTF lady? Are you friggin nuts? What exactly does a baby coming out of me smell like?) What I actually said: "In 2 weeks. It's coming fast. Well, thanks again."

CCL: "Oh yes. Sorry. I just LOOOVVEE pregnant women. You are just too cute." (As she rubs my belly one last time)

What is it about pregnant women that make others feel like they have free reign over groping them and eye fucking them up and down? I can't believe a stranger would ask to see another stranger's "bottom" AND say they can smell the baby coming out of them. WTF is wrong w/ people? Lucky for me this is only the 2nd stranger to actually put her hands on me. The other one was a random, drunk girl in the bathroom at a restaurant. She proclaimed her love for pregnant women and started rubbing my belly telling me how cute I was. Lucky for her she was drunk and complimenting me, so I let it slide. And then she thanked me for letting her rub me down. Best bathroom feel up ever. We didn't even have to cuddle after it. :)

Happy D-Day to me. Yep, it's my due date. And no baby. Damn it. I knew she'd be late.
