Dear Sturgis, Your weather is one crazy ass bitch
While in Sturgis we experienced a wide array of weather. It went from hot, sunny and muggy to cold, overcast and raining, to hailing and windy as shit, to chilly, to warm again. It was by far the strangest weather we have ever experienced in our times at Sturgis. We even got stuck in a nasty ass hail storm while at the Broken Spoke. For those of you fortunate enough to have ever been at the Broken Spoke you will know that the majority of the bar is open air w/ just an old tin roof overhead. Let's just say that the quarter sized hail hitting that tin roof was louder than shit (you can hear how loud on the video, we could barely even hear each other being a foot away). It scared the pups pretty bad! And it actually scared me a bit too when the wind picked up and was gusting over 60 mph! We were in the middle of the bar completely covered by the roof but the wind was so intense that we were still getting wet from the rain b/c it sprayed everywhere. Here's a quick video I took of the storm. (Notice the poor bartender who is wearing next to nothing and soaked to the core. I felt bad for her b/c she HAD to be freezing and she was stuck standing in the rain/spray!)
Luckily Wade and I camped in the van (down by the river, haha) so we didn't have to worry about hail damage to a tent or anything, but Kara and Todd had some damage to their rain guard. Their tent was still there however it was no longer standing after all that wind and they had 3 inches of rain in it and their bedding was drenched! Once again the kick ass "Free Candy" van pays for itself! Molesterrific! And luckily no truck/van/motorcycle of ours had hail damage! We totally lucked out as we found out later when we heard there was baseball sized hail about 10 miles away and several vehicles had shattered windshields and craters like a 14 year old's face going through puberty.
Pictures from Sturgis to come tomorrow! Yippee! Nothing like that to make your Friday even better! Love ya'll sweetums!
