Weekend in Des Moines

Last weekend Charlie and I drove down to Des Moines for a friend's wedding. Since Wade was doing the MS150 I had to make the drive alone and was a bit nervous. It turned out to be the worst drive going down there. Charlie slept for the first 1 1/2 hours but then it started pouring rain which woke her up so she started crying. I was white knuckle driving b/c the rain was so heavy and with a crying child in the back and a whining dog in the passenger seat it was a bit stressful. Needless to say the glass of wine I knocked back when I finally got to my parents went down fast.
Friday was spent shopping and relaxing w/ Charlie and my mom until the rehearsal dinner. Kara, Todd and I went to the rehearsal dinner which was held at the Tavern. It had been years since I'd been there and I was drooling over it. And now that I'm thinking about it again I'm drooling some more. Some of the best taco pizza ever!!!
Saturday the weather was gorgeous so we headed downtown to the farmer's market. Otis, the lazy dog, sat in Charlie's stroller since she didn't want to. I think he liked it, what do you think?
We decided to eat lunch down there on a patio since it was so nice out which w/ 3 dogs and a baby turned out to be quite the production. We had quite a few stares as we tried to get organized and situated which took a good 30 minutes at least. What a hassel! It ended up ok in the end though and Charlie got to eat some quesadilla and french fries. She loves it!
The afternoon turned out perfect for Sarah and Jason's wedding. It was beautiful! Not too many pictures were taken but here are a few from the evening. The red wine was flowing and some of us may have had a little too much. I won't name names but I'm included. :)
Congrats Sarah & Jason! You are too cute and we love you guys!
(Me & Ade, my date for the evening. xoxo)

This weekend my in-laws are traveling up to see us. Who am I kidding? They are coming up to see Charlie. :) Hope the weather is good and we can get some more outdoor time! Maybe even get the zebra pool out again and live in luxury! Haha!
Xoxo~

Booty Booty Booty

I'll start you all off with what I know you want to see today. Some ass in the face. That's right. Here you go. You're welcome. Happy Friday. Now onto a Sturgis recap! We started out our vacation with a ride in the Black Hills. We loaded Otis up in Kara's backpack for his first motorcycle joyride and he loved it! Doesn't he look so chillaxin?

After the ride we put out our pit for Wade's flat track race and started drinking! After a short rain the weather turned out to be perfect!

We hid in the van during the rain...

Once the races were over we hit the strip! We started the night out at Knuckles Saloon, did some great people watching and moved onto One Eyed Jack's which is where that very first picture was taken. Do you want a little explanation perhaps? Well, the place is not technically a strip club b/c they never take their clothes off, they just dance around on the bar and shake their money makers. Then every once and awhile guys would come up to the bar and give them a buck and they would literally sit their asses on their faces. Num num num. :) I was worried that they were going to choke out one guy he was up there for so long! Gross I know, but entertaining to watch!

The following morning when we came back from our showers we found this on the van... (Wade's race buds are some funny fuckers) There is also a giant penis w/ hairy balls on the front windshield! Haha! :)

We headed into town again, hit up several beer tents and did some bike sight seeing and then after the ridiculous hail storm was over we settled down to watch the UFC fights at the Knuckle Saloon. These are just random people off the street that sign up to fight so it's pretty fun to watch. And the finale was a chick fight! It's hard to tell in this pic but the chick on the left is wearing a bikini w/ a VERY short skirt over it and the other chick is wearing a mesh shirt w/ nothing under it and boy shorts. Very fight approrpriate right? They actually put on a good fight and lasted 2 rounds and both had bloody noses at the end of it. I was impressed but then again I was drunk so I was easily impressed. :)

We made random friends (who so generously bought us drinks!) Awesome!

And then ended up at the Loud American where a great band was playing. Wade and I give it 2 thumbs up! Awesome again!

We took some shots which were actually VERY tasty. I wish I knew what it was so I could make some myself... And we cabbed it back to our campsite very happy and drunk (well, at least I was). :)

On our last day in Sturgis we took a long ride through the Black Hills. Unfortunately for us we overestimated the temperature for the day and our ride to Mt. Rushmore was freaking long and cold. So we stopped at a roadside vendor and bought the only shirts we could find that were in our sizes which happened to match. So we looked really cool if you can't tell. :)
Cruisin!

Now this is some helmet hair! This is prior to our shirt purchase and I was freezing! Lucky for Kobe he stayed warm in the bag (and he did NOT want out!!)

Poor Kara got stung by a bee at Mt. Rushmore. Her elbow swelled up and was very pretty. :)

Kobe's first visit to a national monument!

After walking the trail around Mt. Rushmore Kobe had some extra steam he wanted to blow off and attacked Wade's arm. He loves to play wrestle! How cute is he? I am biased but I think he is pretty damn cute.

That night after dinner Kara and Todd turned into pussies and went to bed early so Wade and I hit the town alone, drank and people watched some more. We had 2 beers each and then ran out of money and instead of hitting up the ATM we decided to head back to camp and drink some of our beer we already had. This ended up being a great decision since we ended up getting pulled over on our way back. The cop asked Wade to sit in the passenger seat while the other cop made small talk with me. They said they couldn't read the plates on the bike b/c it was obscured by the tire, however as Wade is sitting in the cop car he looks up and can very clearly see the plates just fine. The cop quickly states that while we are both on it the plates aren't visible. Whatever. They were just looking for an excuse to pull us over to check for drunks, which is fine and all I guess, but you'd think that we would at least have to do something wrong first. Wade ended up blowing a .007 and they let us go. Phew! Talk about a slight freak out!

All in all, a great trip. We did see plenty of boobs (well, plenty in my book but not nearly enough in Wade's I'm sure) and "interesting" people, however compared to years past it was a bit tamer. Maybe b/c we are getting older??? I dunno. But it was still a blast! I love Sturgis!

Dear Sturgis, Your weather is one crazy ass bitch

While in Sturgis we experienced a wide array of weather. It went from hot, sunny and muggy to cold, overcast and raining, to hailing and windy as shit, to chilly, to warm again. It was by far the strangest weather we have ever experienced in our times at Sturgis. We even got stuck in a nasty ass hail storm while at the Broken Spoke. For those of you fortunate enough to have ever been at the Broken Spoke you will know that the majority of the bar is open air w/ just an old tin roof overhead. Let's just say that the quarter sized hail hitting that tin roof was louder than shit (you can hear how loud on the video, we could barely even hear each other being a foot away). It scared the pups pretty bad! And it actually scared me a bit too when the wind picked up and was gusting over 60 mph! We were in the middle of the bar completely covered by the roof but the wind was so intense that we were still getting wet from the rain b/c it sprayed everywhere. Here's a quick video I took of the storm. (Notice the poor bartender who is wearing next to nothing and soaked to the core. I felt bad for her b/c she HAD to be freezing and she was stuck standing in the rain/spray!)

Luckily Wade and I camped in the van (down by the river, haha) so we didn't have to worry about hail damage to a tent or anything, but Kara and Todd had some damage to their rain guard. Their tent was still there however it was no longer standing after all that wind and they had 3 inches of rain in it and their bedding was drenched! Once again the kick ass "Free Candy" van pays for itself! Molesterrific! And luckily no truck/van/motorcycle of ours had hail damage! We totally lucked out as we found out later when we heard there was baseball sized hail about 10 miles away and several vehicles had shattered windshields and craters like a 14 year old's face going through puberty.

Pictures from Sturgis to come tomorrow! Yippee! Nothing like that to make your Friday even better! Love ya'll sweetums!

Wordless Wednesday

To the jolliest bunch of assholes this side of the nuthouse:

~MERRY CHRISTMAS!~
And since that one is kind of boring, here's a cute one:

* Little beggars sidled up to the bar to beg for holiday food (they will look this way the whole coming weekend).
(Sorry, I know this isn't wordless. I'll do better next time.)
