At 6 months...

Charlie is changing so fast! At 6 months she is now gobbling down solids (which are more like mushes) like a pro. So far she loves pears, bananas, apples, peaches, sweet potatoes and carrots. She was not a fan of peas (as I mentioned before). I'm going to go pick up some new flavors for her tomorrow. It's so fun to try new foods with her. She makes the funniest faces when she tastes something new and then she starts opening her mouth up like a little bird. It's so cute but it also makes me realize she's definitely growing up fast and quickly turning into a little person of her own w/ her own ideas and tastes.

She still LOVES her bouncy chair and goes to town bouncing in it. She also has started cuddling w/ a little blanket or snuggly bear when she naps. It's adorable.
The other morning when Wade woke her up she pulled her feet up into the air and began rolling to her side, feet in the air, and farted the whole way over. Hilarious. I can't help but laugh at her when she farts (which is a lot) and I have a feeling we're going to have a little tooter on our hands for quite sometime since it gets a reaction out of me.

She is SOOOO close to sitting on her own. She'll sit by herself for 5 seconds before toppling over so I like to surround her with pillows and let her go at it. She'll fall to her side and then get the biggest grin on her face when she plops on the pillows. She's getting quite the personality and is finding more and more things humorous.

Wade and I have a Valentine's Day date planned for this Saturday and we have a sitter lined up for Charlie. We're going to Chino Latino for drinks and dinner. It'll be nice to get out for a bit and have some adult time together.

How about WordFULL Wednesday?

I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine’s weekend filled with love, hugs and candy. Lots of candy. I’ve recently found Sweet Tart Valentine’s gummy hearts and have been eating them like crazy. They are like sour patch kids except you don’t have to deal w/ the gross yellow ones. Perfection!

We went to Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse for Valentine’s Day dinner on Saturday night. It was delicious. I highly recommend it; although it wasn’t cheap. The one glass of wine that we split was $13. And that was the cheapest Pinot Noir they had. Although it was so utterly tasty and smooth and dear God I want more right now so it was totally worth it. :)

We then rented ‘Inglorious Basterds’ and ‘I Love You Man’. Both were good movies. If you like Quentin Tarantino then ‘Inglorious Basterds’ will not disappoint. Full of oddness, blood, comedy and swear words it was very entertaining. If you like awkwardness, a little romance and humor then you’d like ‘I Love You Man’. Poor Paul Rudd’s character was full of complete awkward behavior. It made him endearing at times and annoying at others but the movie was a win in my book.

Other than that we have been working full time on updating the house and getting it ready for the baby. We had new windows installed last week and Wade replaced the rotten wood trim that was around the bathroom window. The window is in the shower stall b/c our home is ancient and used to only have a tub, therefore a window there would be okay, however a shower head was installed eons ago and for some reason the previous owners (who I swear were morons) never replaced the wood trim with vinyl and therefore the water sitting on the wood window ledge caused it to rot and start to fall apart. Well no longer! It is now crisp, new, white vinyl! And Wade installed a new sucky fan in the ceiling in the bathroom too b/c the one that was in there was probably as old as our house and nasty.

Our crib was delivered yesterday and Wade put it together last night and set it up in the nursery. Our first piece of furniture for the room! Wade refinished the hardwood floors in there and painted the walls too. He's such a handyman! We are waiting until after March 4th for anything else b/c I want to know if this baby is a boy or girl before we go decorating everything. So for now it is still pretty empty but still a huge improvement over what it looked like before! I know you all are just dying for pictures of the soon to be nursery. So here are the before and after shots.

Before (Right after we moved in, it was the "office" that was never used)

After (newly refinished hardwood floors, new lighter paint color and new windows!)

And the crib. Wade had this thing put together in under 30 minutes! He's a pro!

Other than that all I’ve been up to is eating my weight in food. Amazingly I’m still only up about 5-6 pounds (I have no clue how). I swear I am hungry non-stop. You want a belly picture? Oh, okay.

This was actually taken last week. I'm even bigger now. It's amazing how much you can grow in just one week. :)

The life of a pregnant woman is just uber exciting.

Lata gatas!

Valentine's Day is for Dim-wits*

So this weekend is Valentine's Day. Wade and I have a tradition of picking a new restaurant that we've never been to before and eating there for the occasion. Other than that we don't really do anything. Back in the day when he was trying to "woo" me he would buy me flowers or chocolates and one time he even cooked me Cornish hens and garlic mashed potatoes, but those days are long over. I really like our new tradition though of not over-hyping this whole "romanticized" holiday. Why have a day in which to show the person you love that you adore them? Shouldn't you be showing them that everyday?

So this year we are trying Manhattan’s. It’s in downtown Minneapolis and we plan on going downtown prior to our 7:45 reservations and hitting the bar scene. This ensures I will be fairly lit by the time we hit Manhattan’s and the food will for sure be astounding. After all, everything is better when you are drunk (see my previous post if you question that logic). So needless to say I am very much looking forward to spending some quality time w/ my man and having an enjoyable evening out just the 2 of us; drinking, talking, laughing and enjoying the night. And when we get home: dessert!

So what do all of you wonderful internet friends have planned for Valentine’s Day? Any romantic, smushy, lovey-dovey crap going on? If by romantic crap I mean body chocolates, lingerie and massaging gel then count me in. (Haha, j/k Mom and Dad!) :)

We are sooo romantic!

Happy Valentine’s Day my friends!

These are the days of our lives...

So much has been going on the past few weeks I haven’t found the time to post lately! We’ve had family visit, a bachelorette party, and travels. We’ve been to Bessemer, MI this last weekend (I will post more on that later along w/ a few pictures). And I was in Ft. Myers, FL the weekend before that soaking up the sun! This week will be a little calmer, with Valentine’s Day to look forward to, but the weekend will be another one filled w/ social events. Gotta love it! :)

Ahhh… Valentine’s Day. When I get the excuse to get Wade to treat me like a princess. Oh wait, he pretty much does that every day! I am SO lucky! :) We will be going to Atlas Grill in Minneapolis. We’ve never been there before, but the menu looks spectacular! Can’t wait to try it! Wade always makes us reservations somewhere nice that we’ve never been before and it is always something to look forward to. So I can’t wait for that.

Friday we are going to attempt a re-do on E’s bachelorette bash since she got sick at her last one. And no, it wasn’t due to too much alcohol, she had the flu! Poor E! (this pic was right before she left the party) So we will make another go at it and I can’t wait. While Saturday is Brad’s bachelor party that Wade has been looking forward to and help plan. I may just take it easy that night. We’ll see. It would be kind of nice to take an evening to myself and relax, but somehow I always find myself going out to do something!

Look forward to posting some good pics of FL and Bessemer on here this week. Stay tuned! :)

Lata my peeps!
