Weekly Want-It's

I'm going to try to do these posts weekly. We'll see how well I keep up with it b/c me and commitment typically doesn't go well (except w/ my honeybumpkin Wade). :)

So here are my favorite finds!

Bonjour my lovers!

And we're back. We got back to the good ole USA on Monday afternoon. I took Tuesday off to recuperate and I actually got all of the 450+ photos from our trip loaded onto the computer and even my favorites onto Facebook.

We had such a great trip. It was unreal. I figure for blog post purposes that I'll break our trip summary up into 4 different posts (one for each trip stop). So we'll begin with Paris.

I landed in Paris at 9:30am (but it felt like 2:30am to me). I was nervous to find the meeting spot that Wade had told me to meet him at. After finding what I thought was the right spot I paced around waiting for Wade to arrive on his train. When I finally saw him it was so great. I had missed the hell out of him!

I was beat from the plane ride and time difference but there was to be no rest for the weary! We are in Paris!

Our first day consisted of walking around to get acquainted with the neighborhood we were in which was perfect b/c there were restaurants EVERYWHERE and we were directly across the street from the train station that we were scheduled to leave from. We wandered down to Notre Dame, the Isle of St. Louis and walked along the Seine, stopped in an Irish pub for a brew and finally headed back to the hotel for some dinner and wine and passed the hell out.Our 2nd day we slept in, walked down to the Louvre (which was free b/c it was the 1st Sunday of the month = perfect!) and then started heading toward the Eiffel tower. We were thinking we'd find somewhere to eat along the way and grab some grub and drinks but once you head out of the gardens surrounding the Louvre there really isn't anywhere to stop between there and the Eiffel tower. So by the time we got there I was beat (it was a long walk!) and starving and really wanting a drink! We got a Coke that ended up costing us $5 (oops) and then waited in line to go up the tower. The view from the 2nd level was amazing!

After that was over and done with we found a cafe and drank some wine while waiting to meet up with Chris and Crystal for dinner. Chris was Wade's roommate in Lyon during his MBA course and he and his wife were in Paris at the same time as us. We had a great steak and french fries (they serve french fries w/ EVERYTHING and mayo w/ the fries) dinner along w/ some overly expensive (but tasty) wine and then headed to the gardens by the Eiffel Tower to watch the light show. Chris and Crystal had so nicely brought along 2 bottles of wine and we popped those suckers open and plomped down on the grass to drink, chill and watch the lights. I must say the light show was kind of lame although it was pretty. But the whole night was a blast (from what I can remember)!

The only bad thing is that there is nowhere to pee! So I held it in for so long that I eventually had to pee in the bushes. Fun. And then by the time we left it was SO late that we couldn't find a bus and I couldn't find a toilet and we had a very very long walk back to our place so I thought I'd try to pee behind a post on a building. Not a good idea. A guard caught me, Wade shit his pants and then I had to rinse my pee down with a bucket of water the guard gave me. But well, when you gotta go, you gotta go! The French could learn a thing or two about making toilets more accessible! Even when you finally can find one it will cost you money to use! Absurd!
Oh yeah, and quite possibly one of the best parts of Paris... a bird shit on Wade's head while we were waiting for our train. Hahahahaha! Awesome. :)

All in all, Paris was a great city to visit. Until next time... Au reviour.

For those interested, the swim suit I ended up keeping was this one. Sure, my tan lines will be a little wacky, but that is assuming I even get a tan! I'm white as a ghost. Call me Casperetta. Anyway, I loved the color and it fit me great so decision DONE! Thanks for all your responses!* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
Next up, this is our friend Steve.

For those of you who watch Family Guy, do you totally see the resemblance to Quagmire?!?!? For those of you who don't watch it, what are you waiting for? It's hilarious! :) We've taken to calling Steve, Quagmire instead b/c it is more fun to say and funny too!

He's Quagmire! Quagmire! Giggity, giggity, giggity, giggity! Let's have sex!

Johnny Johnny Pumpkin Seeds (What???)

What's that you say? You were wanting a pumpkin update? Well, okay. If you insist.

To get you up to speed:

The pumpkin in April - The pumpkin in May -

And...
It's still there in all it's glory. Although it has shriveled up even more than before which I didn't know was possible. Pretty soon it's going to look just like all the rocks it's sitting on. Please last until October. Please last until October. Please last until October.
(I don't want to buy a new pumpkin.)

Too funny not to share

Try to imagine...

It's 1982. Hawaiian prints, big tinted glasses, lots of plaid and moustaches are totally "in". You get your picture taken in a spur of the moment photo op. Twenty-seven years later, your daughter posts it on the internet for everyone to see.
Everyone, I'd like you to meet the parents. My dad is the one w/ the porno stash and my mom is the one rockin the palm print. Hotties? Oh yeah. Now you can totally see where I get my smashing good looks from right?

Happy Friday luvahs!

Baby got some ink on her

Thanks to Blog Goggles for giving me the inspiration to write a post about tattoos. At the current time I have 3 tattoos and I am not at the point of regretting any of them and am hopeful that I never will. I think tattoos can be a beautiful piece of art if done the right way and put in the correct location on the body. That being said... A beautiful tattoo in the wrong place = trashy. And a trendy tattoo even in the best location = eventual regret.

I'm a big supporter of body art and body piercing. If you want it, get it. Don't let society hold you down. We should all have the freedom and courage to be individuals. That is what makes us beautiful. However, if you want to be in a profession where this type of thing is not easily accepted it may be harder for you to be able to express yourself this way and you'll have to either get tattoos or piercings which are easily hid (or find a differenty job). I know that 2 of my tattoos are probably a complete mystery to all my co-workers, bosses and customers and that is probably a good thing since I work in the conservative banking industry.

So now it is time for a little show and tell.

The first tattoo I ever got is on my lower back which has so lovingly become known as the "tramp stamp" location. Let me state that when I got this tattoo I was 20 and it was a very trendy place to get one and was not called a "tramp stamp" yet. Do I regret it though? Not at all. I got what I believe is a very tasteful tattoo and symbolic of what I want in life = love. It's a simple black heart and about 1 inch wide by 2 inches long and I love it.

The second tattoo I got with my twin sister, Kara. The significance behind this one is that we designed it together and got them together when we were about 22 (I think). We both have it on our left foot so we even have twin tattoos. :) It was a lot of fun!
The last tattoo I got in Sturgis in August 2007. Kara and I had said we weren't leaving Sturgis without getting another tattoo together so on the last day we were there we went and found one of the several little tattoo parlors (the place we picked had a free beer w/ purchase, classy I know, but that was why we picked it! Priorities people!) and we sat down at the same time and had them done on the back of our necks. This one we designed together as well but it actually has a meaning behind it too. It is a roman numeral II for the Gemini sign. Since we are twins AND Geminis we were set on getting this. I think this one is my favorite just b/c of the location and the fact that it has meaning behind it.

So there you have it. My 3 tats. I want to get another one but the hubs is saying anymore and I may start to look like a crack whore (ok, those weren't his exact words but whatever). I'll continue to ponder it though and I'm sure I'll probably end up with another one at some point or another. They truly are addicting. Once you get one you immediately start thinking of where you are going to get the next one.

As for piercings I have 1 in my left ear, 2 in my right ear (there is a story behind that but this post is already getting too long) and my belly button. I took out my belly button one for about a week not too long ago but I couldn't stop staring at my empty belly button and thinking it looked weird and naked so I put it back in. And I used to have one on the top of my left ear but I took that out quite a while ago b/c it was starting to look like I had a nipple growing on top of my ear. That's hot, right?

So my friends, tell me about your tattoos or piercings and what you like or don't like. I personally like a man with a couple tats. I think they can be totally sexy. They just have to make sure it's not some barbed wire arm band or something totally douchey.*
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
Okay, this is long enough. I leave for Europe tomorrow & I am shitting bricks I'm so excited. I can't wait to see Wade AND Europe! So please don't be mad at me b/c I won't be visiting your blogs again until the 14th or so. I honestly do love you but seriously, I will not be checking in while in Europe (although I do still have a few posts written and saved up to post while I'm gone just for ya'll!). This is my vacation away from EVERYTHING!!! So please... Don't hater-aide. I'll be back soon, will be posting a plethora of pictures (I'm sure) and I love you guys!

Au revoir my luvs!
*If any of you have a barbed wire arm band, I didn't mean to be rude. I'm sorry. But probably not as sorry as you are for getting it in the first place. Am I right? :)

Pretty Much Wordless Wednesday

The Housewives of Richfield

Nothing to see here. Just a typical week night drink fest on our porch. :)
