(Not) Wordless Wednesday
We've been staying busy and trying to stay warm. Although w/ Mondays high of -4 degrees and a "real feel" of -25!!! We are having a hard time! :)
We went to a motorcycle show, sold our molesterrific van and bought a new one that is just a bit less molesterrific, went sledding, played with Play-doh and markers, took Charlie bowling for her 1st time (she liked it for 4 frames then just wanted to eat popcorn), fit in a couple happy hours and just lived it up as a family. Nothing super exciting but good enough for me.
I hope everyone else is staying warm. I'm just so thankful the days are finally getting longer bc I am so over this winter weather. I'm ready for some warm sun and fun in the outdoors. Fun that doesn't consist of your snot freezing in your nose the second you walk outside.
Cheers~

A little bit of this, a little bit of that
Regardless, before we all got hit with the flu from hell we had a lot of fun! And luckily Charlie is pretty chill so while she was feeling better from the flu and we were all still immobile she just sat back and hung out! Thank goodness for Disney movies and cartoons!
LOVE this adorable outfit I scored for 1/2 off at Target - Harajuku Girls |
I swear she's addicted to crackers |
We all look pretty good for just puking our brains out. |
Well, not much else to update on. I wish I had gotten some more good pics while we were down in Galesburg but I pretty much left the camera in my bag once we all started feeling ill. Next time...
Later~

Whoa! Sledding is intense!
Charlie's first time sledding. She LOVED it. All she could say over and over was "whoa". It was so fun taking her out! I'm so glad the weather was perfect for it! Warm enough for me to run around w/o gloves and cool enough that the snow stuck around for a bit! Perfection!
Happy hump day!

And we're back!
We went on a tour of the rainforest and also kayaked into a bioluminesence bay (I'm 99% sure I spelled that wrong). It's the water that glows from algae when it is disturbed. Very cool! Other than that we drank a lot, ate some Puerto Rican food (Mofongo is delish!) and cherished the sun. Two hangovers in 5 days isn't too bad, is it? We even skinny dipped in the ocean and stayed up until 5 am on Kara and Todd's wedding night. Who says we're old farts now!?!?
So who wants to see some pics? I've got a couple hundred!

Blah, Blah, Blah
- Looking down at my growing belly it looks as if I swallowed a bowling ball.
- I absolutely LOVE feeling our baby girl move. Ask me this again in a month though and I may have a different answer. Especially once she starts kicking my bladder.
- *Schmoop warning* Wade is a wonderful, supportive, loving and caring husband. I couldn't ask for a better man. He's going to be the best father.
- My pumpkin has been uncovered by the melting snow. It's 1/2 eaten by squirrels and in the middle of our yard. Anyone want to take bets as to if I will grow another pumpking plant this year?
- This new show "High Society" on CW is ridic. This guy blew through $200,000 in his trust fund and then asked his mom for an additional $50,000. WTF? Then he threw a drink on a girl at a club, it got in her eyes and they called a 911 b/c she was crying hysterically that it hurt. For serious? Rinse w/ water. It's just some Jack. Damn girl.
- I really, really, REALLY want a big glass of wine. Like really. Now.
- We're driving down to Iowa City this Saturday for a friend's wedding. It will be a huge drunken mess and I will be completely sober. Sad face. But I did get a new kick ass red maternity dress for it that shows off my bump just right!
- Kobe will no longer cuddle w/ me on the couch. I think he hates my bowling ball belly and that makes me cry. :(
- It's starting to feel like spring and that makes me so excited! I want to wear open toe shoes! I'm totally getting a pedi tomorrow and wearing some to this wedding. Rain be damned.
- I always thought I'd like having bigger boobs until I got them. These suckers are hard to dress. They make even the most conservative shirt look like I belong in a whore house.
- I'm wondering when my nesting mode will kick in b/c as of now the only mode I'm in is couch mode (interrupted by eat mode).
- Is ANYONE on this "High Society" show normal? Wow. This is like Lindsay Lohan train wreck good. :) This is taking over "Jersey Shore" on the trash list! Setting up DVR to record weekly now.
- I've got nothing. Nothing else. I have come to realize that my life now that I'm pregnant is pretty dull. But that is only temporary. :)
Hope ya'll have a great weekend!

We Partied Like It Was 2010 (or something like that)
We had food galore and kegerator beer along with some mixed cocktails. The evening started early with the ISU/MN bowl game starting at 5:00. ISU managed to pull out a win (1 point is all that is needed and won me the bet w/ my boss so I scored a 6-pack of beer!) and we celebrated their victory and the new decade. So we partied from 5:00-2:30am! We may be 30 now but we can still hang! (Although the hangovers are worse… Sorry Brad!)
Other than that the rest of our long weekend was relaxing and uneventful. We rented movies, (District 9 was dumb, Terminator Salvation was decent and GI Joe was meh) went out to dinner, and I was a lazy bum with Kobe and he loved it! Cuddle time!
How was all of your New Year’s Celebrations? Is it as cold where you are as it is here? The high today was 1. And it isn't supposed to get above the teens for the next week! WTF? I can't handle this shit. I need to move south.

I See The Light!!!
I wore open toed shoes!!! One of my favorite pairs!

Free at last, free at last! Thank God Almighty! We are free at last!
Halleluiah!
My feet are so grateful to have the fresh air on them! I decided to thank them for being hidden away for over 3 months and I gave them a beautiful pedicure last night in preparation for today.
The end of winter is in sight! Most of our snow is melted and I couldn’t be happier. Springtime is on it’s way and will be here before I know it and that makes me full on giddy.

It's Alright Now, In Fact It's A Gas!
1. I get to get schnockered
2. I get to laugh at all the inbred, wife-beater wearing, mullet growing hicks that are sure to be there.
The white-t seriously flock to these events like zombies to brains. Or like me to alcohol. Either way. Anything to do with motorized racing, crashing, smashing, etc, and you can guarantee that they will be there and screaming their heads off.
Wade and I decided to go to this after figuring out we have absolutely no plans scheduled for this weekend and it is a freaking arctic frozen tundra up here as of lately. (Seriously, the high today was -5 degrees. NEGATIVE! Screw you winter!) After we determined we had no plans we tried to come up with something that would be fun to do. We decided that getting trashed and going to the Monster Jam could prove to be fun. So we are going to go bar hopping prior to the event and by the time we get there we will be sloshed. Do you think it is sad that this is our idea of fun in this cold ass freezing state we live in? Personally I do. It’s a sad day in my social life. I never thought I’d see myself resorting to getting lit while watching hicks drive big trucks over small cars and smash them up. Super smash!
I’m sure by now you all are probably thinking that I must be the most hick chick to go along with this. Heck, I play Big Buck Hunter, go to dive bars and even go shooting over my holiday vacation (which is another option of something we may do this weekend). I belong in a van down by the river. I’m pretty sure that the next thing you know Wade and I will be moving to Arkansas and living in a trailer park with my Aunt Maude and Uncle Cletus. Seriously I think this boredumb will be the death of me.

Wade and I's wedding picture (aren't we smokin?)
Coming up next: I’ll be showing you pictures of my mullet growing progress. Boy is it getting long!

Baby it's F*#%ing cold outside
It’s currently 17 degrees out and it feels like a flipping heat wave! The past 4-5 days the high has hovered around 5 degrees so this is some serious heat. And that my friends really makes me sad. Seriously, just call me Debbie Downer. Or Sad Panda. I go by both. 17 degrees feels warm?!?! WTF? Also, I’ve been outside a total of 3 times today and I’ve almost fallen on my ass 3 times. I’m batting at 1.000. I’m so good, I’m perfect. Do you know how ridiculous I look when I "almost" fall on my ass? I think I'd rather fall all the way down b/c it would look better plopping my ass on the nasty slush covered ground than it does with me trying not to fall and my arms flailing around in the air attempting to balance myself as my feet are slipping in different directions trying to make me do something I haven't done since high school (the splits). Yes, I admit, I am a total klutz. I think it is attractive. It totally brings in the men. They are basically knocking my door down. I have to fend them off w/ my karate type moves that I learned in kickboxing.
Also, this snow/ice shit is slicker than snot. Not only do I nearly fall w/ every step I take but my car slips around corners, nearly slides through stop signs and spins out every time I attempt to move from a stopped position. Watch out pedestrians, you ARE in harms way! You’d think I was driving too fast but nope, I’m going an average of 8 mph. The plow trucks seriously suck. You’d think they’d get out and actually know how to remove snow from the roads being that this is the fricking north pole (well, ok, it’s not, but it feels like it is) but noooooo….. That would mean someone would actually know how to do their job! To top it all off some piss head cut me off today and I had to slam my brakes and attempt to stop on the slippery shit covering the street. Seriously people? Don’t you realize I WILL hit you? You cannot stop on this crap. What a stupid ass chunk. MN drivers can blow me. They are the most wretched drivers I’ve ever seen. I’m not kidding. Ask any of my friends from out of town and they swear they have almost lost their lives while driving up here to visit me.
Beware: Visiting Kellie = 71% chance of losing your life to moronic MN drivers
(Other than that I have nothing against this cold mother fucker of a state. I actually quite like it. But seriously, learn how to drive Minnesotans.)
And that is my rant for the day. Thank God I have happy hour tonight. Followed by kickboxing. Maybe kickboxing will be added to my list of things that are fun to do drunk. Or maybe it will be added to my list of things to NOT do when drunk. We will soon see I guess. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it is more fun b/c then I’d have an excuse to go to it drunk all the time. Then I'd be "living the dream". Haha! (Beth will get that quote, everyone else will probably just think it's dumb).
If this post doesn't get you in the holiday spirit then I don't know what will! Bah Humbug!
Sincerely,
Scrooge McGee :)
